About Religious Education
Highland Lutheran International School

A center piece of the program at HLIS is the Christian message of love and service that permeates every school activity.  This specifically involves weekly Sunday worship, weekly chapel worship on Wednesday mornings, daily devotions at morning assemblies and a full curriculum of Christian education classes from prekindergarten to grade 12.   Indeed, one of the primary outcomes of the school is that students become Christian ambassadors wherever they may go in life.

Christian teachings are evident in every aspect of student life, from the classroom to the playing field to trips off campus to the rules in the dormitory and the cafeteria.  In addition, classes at all levels teach the stories and lessons of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, and high school religion classes cover Christian doctrine as well as the basics of other world wisdom traditions.
