HLIS

     Highlands Lutheran International School (HLIS) is a learning community in the mountainous Enga Province of Papua New Guinea with a clear and vital educational mission to serve students from the entire country as well as other South Pacific locations.  At HLIS Christian educators dedicate the next generation to the Lord, and students learn the skills they need to be prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. The mission statement of the school is “Excellence in Education Guided by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

     This site is dedicated to supporting the work of Highland Lutheran International School in three vital ways.

• It introduces new staff to the school, its students, and the opportunities that exist here for professional staff to make a difference in the lives of the students.
     
• It introduces HLIS to new students — why they might want to come to HLIS and what they can expect if they come here.
     
• It introduces HLIS to people around the world who might wish to help support the important mission of the school.
